This fishing village in the north of Fuerteventura is an authentic place to stay on the island. Most of the people are staying in Corralejo and sometimes come here to lay at the beach or eat some delicious seafood in the fish restaurants.

For a romantic vacation or an honeymoon, El Cotillo will be an amazing location. Imagine yourself sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine and looking out over the ocean or having a late night beach walk with your lover. Could it get more romantic?
An self-catering apartment or hotel room with ocean view will cost between 50 and 100 euros a night for two persons during high season.
Family vacation with younger children.
With younger kids you will also enjoy staying in El Cotillo. Because, there is a nice calm swimming bay and there are nice playgrounds where your kids can play. It is less crowded than Corralejo, so you can really enjoy the family time in a relaxing atmosphere.
For a family room on a complex with shared swimming pool, you will pay between 75 and 100 euros a night for two adults and two children.
El Cotillo Restaurants
You can eat the most delicious seafood at the local fish restaurants. For example at La Vaca Azul they serve fresh fish Canarian style, grilled fish with lots of garlic. At Bonito Gastrobar you can eat another specialty from the Canary islands, gambas al ajio which means garlic prawns. Olivo Corso serves amazing octopus and super fresh tuna tataki. For the best view you definitely need to go to la Vaca Azul, which looks out over the ocean.
El Cotillo beach
El Cotillo isn’t only a good place to eat, it also has very clean and beautiful beaches, like the lagoon where you (and your kids) can swim safely sheltered from big waves and strong currents.
Even though El Cotillo lies near Corralejo, it is very handy that there are some shops. There are a supermarket and some tourist shops.
If you like to see some culture than you can go to the watchtowers (Castillo del Tostón) or the lighthouse (Faro del Tostón).
In the small harbour lay many colourful small (fishing) boats and near the watchtowers there is some colourful modern and funny art.
Parking in el Cotillo is free.
