La Oliva
In La Oliva you will find beautiful beaches. The most famous beach of this area are the Grandes Playas, where you will also find the Natural de Corralejo Park with endless sand dunes. The small fishing village of El Cotillo is the best place to relax and eat the freshest fish. Lajares is the hippie and surfers village of the island. If you like surfing, windsurfing or kite surfing, you will feel at home in the north of Fuerteventura.
Betancuria
Almost in the middle of Fuerteventura you will find the former capital of Fuerteventura. At the moment it is the cultural capital of the island. There are still a few small villages in the municipality of Betancuria. If you like hiking, you may like one of these small villages, but there are no tourist activities.
Puerto del Rosario
In the municipality of Puerto del Rosario you will find the airport in the village of El Matorral and the capital of Fuerteventure, which is also called Puerto del Rosario. The capital is not very touristy yet. I believe it might change soon. because there are many facilities, there is a beautiful beach and it is also close to the airport and therefore it is a great place for a city trip.
