The resort of Caleta de Fuste is located south of the airport of Fuerteventura. You can drive from the airport of Fuerteventura to Caleta de Fuste by car in just 10 minutes.
This village runs almost entirely on tourism. Many Englishmen, Germans and Dutch people know this coastal town now.
Caleta de Fuste Beach
The main reason to choose Caleta de Fuste as a holiday destination is the beautiful beach Playa del Castillo. This is one of the few beaches of Fuerteventura where it is relatively safe to swim with children. The moon-shaped bay has less wind and therefore has a less strong current. The sea is also slowly running down, making the front part shallow. On the beach you can eat at La Perlita Pizzeria, the name is not correct, because besides pizzas there are also many other snacks available. If you have enough of sunbathing and swimming, then you can also take a camel ride on this beach.
Caleta de Fuste harbour
The port of Caleta de Fuste called Puerto del Castillo is a marina, here you will see both fishing boats as well as luxury yachts and large cruise ships. There are a few terraces that overlook the harbour. Unfortunately, there are not so many restaurants in the harbour.
Centro Comercial Atlantico
To do groceries during your holiday, you can go to the Spar in the indoor shopping mall Centro Comercial Atlantico. This Spar supermarket has a large assortment. In the Centro Comercial Atlantico there are also a few clothes and shoe shops, a hairdresser and restaurants.
If you are looking for some entertainment during your holiday, then you are also at the right place at this shopping centre. There is a cinema and a bowling alley. Outside is a (paid) playground for children including a large bouncy castle. If you prefer to go to a shopping mall with a larger offer, then Centro Comercial Las rotondas in Puerto del Rosario is a must.
Fuerteventura Culture
There is little culture to find in this village of Fuerteventura. The old Fortress Tower of Caleta de Fuste is nice to see. This tower was used to spot if pirates where nearby. Castillo de San Buenaventura is the name of this defensive tower. Next to this old building is a small playground where children can entertain themselves. There are no notable cultural attractions in Caleta de Fuste. If you want to know more of the culture of Fuerteventura, you should make a day trip to Betancuria the former capital of the island.
