In the surfers / hippie village of Lajares (between Corralejo and El Cotillo) there is always a relaxed atmosphere. You can feel this atmosphere in the Canela Cafe Lajares. This music café, where many jam sessions are played (live music, Friday and Saturday evening (check the local Covid-19 rules)), serves basic food at a high level.

Canela Cafe Lajares terrace
In front you can have a seat outside on the street side ,but it is not very spacious, inside it is bigger and at the back you’ll find a small cosy patio. (During the Corona pandemic, they expanded the terrace in front of the restaurant).
You can choose between many sandwiches, a number of main courses such as their famous spareribs or a curry.
Vegetarian food at Canela Cafe Lajares
The nachos (nachos locos with chili con carne or the vegetarian variant are amazing!) are great for lunch or as a starter to share. As a vegetarian you can choose from different things, such as the falafel burger or a vegetarian sandwich.
In the morning you can take a cup of coffee and some sweets, for example chocolate croissants.
Affordable restaurant in Fuerteventura
The prices are very low and the waiters are very friendly. They speak English well, but would also like to help you speak Spanish.
Lajares Craft Market
On Saturday morning until noon it is very busy due to the craft market.
You can park your car at the side of the street for free. (check the local Covid-19 rules on Fuerteventura, because markets are not allowed in all of the ‘levels’.
