On the main road from Corralejo to El Cotillo you will find a nice bakery on the side of the street in the village Lajares. You can park in front of the bakery, so it is an easy stop on the way to the beach. You will immediately be in a beach-like mood at this Lajares bakery, because of the thatched parasols.
Lajares is a small place in the north of Fuerteventura. It is located between Corralejo and El Cotillo. There are a few bakeries in Lajares, but this Lajares bakery has the most relaxed atmosphere and a very big terrace.
This bakery is a bit different from the others we have visited. They don’t have the largest choice, but what they serve tastes great. The (Illy!!) cappuccino is very tasty, just like the pastries. If you like carrot cake then you must try one here. If you like it a little bit healthier than go for the toasted bread.
A place for the whole family
You hardly notice that you are on the main road, because of the good atmosphere and setting of Pastelo. It’s a great place for a coffee break or lunch with the whole family, because the picknick tables are big enough to sit on with six people and there also is a small playground for the kids. So you can sit down, relax and enjoy your food while the children are playing.
Parking on the side of the street is for free.
Location: Calle Coronel González del Hierro, Lajares (Fuerteventura)
Another good bakery in the village of Lajares is La Paneteca. La Paneteca has the best home made bread of the area. So this bakery also deserves a visit.
