For real Spanish food and specialties of the canary islands you definitely need to eat at least once you’re stay at La Taberna in Corralejo. The owners will do their best to give you a wonderful Canarian diner experience.
Centre of Corralejo
The restaurant is situated in the centre of Corralejo, next to the main street. The building in front of it where you look at sitting on the terrace isn’t the best view, but inside it is very pretty and with the ventilators and open windows it wouldn’t be too hot in there.
The interior of the restaurant is typical for the canary islands, the stucco with lava stones make it feel very authentic.
Alright I told you to come here at least once during your vacation, But I also need to advice you to do it on one of the first days of your vacation because when you like it as much as we do dan you definitely need to come at least one more time.
The reason you need to come here twice is that they serve a wonderful paella for two persons, but they also serve an amazing tapas menu for two. You better try both, because I really can’t tell you which will be the best choice.
The seafood paella is the best I’ve ever tasted. There are lots of seafood in it. The rice is a little sticky exactly how it’s supposed to be.
Tapas at La Taberna
The tapas menu for to consists of tomato cheese salat, garlic prawns (the best ever!), Croquettes, Canarian style pork, scrambled egg with vegies and Canarian potatoes (Papas Arrugadas).
At la Taberna they also serve steaks and other meat and fish dishes. When you make a reservation ahead you can ask for the roasted lamb which they need to prepare ahead.
The value for money at La Taberna is amazing. You can eat a paella or tapas menu for two some bread with aioli and a bottle of wine for 40 euros.
