In the municipality of Puerto del Rosario you will find the airport in the village of El Matorral and the capital of Fuerteventure, which is also called Puerto del Rosario. The capital is not very touristy yet. I believe it might change soon. because there are many facilities, there is a beautiful beach and it is also close to the airport and therefore it is a great place for a city trip.
In the municipality of Pájara you will find many tourist places to stay during your holiday in Fuerteventura. Ajuy is perhaps a better option for a day out, but it is also a nice place to enjoy the real island feeling. For more tourist facilities you go to Morro Jable, with a 4 kilometer long beach and a boulevaird. For windsurfing you should definitely go to Costa Calma with the beautiful lagoon; Sotavento.
The most touristy place in Tuineje is Gran Tarajal, but Gran Tarajal is still very touristy. There is a black lava sand beach and there are a few restaurants.
Antigua is the name of the municipality, but also of the capital of Antigua. This capital is not a city, it is a village because it is very small. There is a beautiful white church and there are a number of bars. The most touristic place here is Caleta de Fuste, which is close to Fuerteventura airport. Caleta de Fusta has a beautiful swimming bay and many restaurants. Costa Antigua is an emerging beach location.
